Archery History

Incredible as it may sound, archery as a sports event was never heard of during the first Olympics in Greece. During the course of the 1000-year history of the Olympics, this event could have been included sometime in the past. The 1900 Olympics saw archery for men as an event for the first time and the women\’s event began in 1904.

Hockey Origins

Though Canada was the birthplace of hockey and it’s origins, the sport has since crossed over into the United States and Europe. The Stanley cup playoffs make a larger number of Americans uninterested in international men\’s ice hockey world championships, though Europeans are very fond of it. Truthfully, many countries have a severe lack of top players, because those who are the best go off to join the NHL and try to win the Stanley cup.
