Swimming Pool Enclosure. Top Tips Before You Purchase.

Before you go ahead and purchase your Pool Enclosure, there are some worth considering to ensure you’re making the best decision. Take a few minutes to read and consider these points:

1. Have you decided to have a tracked or trackless Pool Enclosure?

This is often a difficult decision before you purchase a Pool Enclosure. Probably the main difference, from a user perspective, is the ease of opening and closing the enclosure. A swimming pool enclosure that runs on tracks can easily and quickly be operated just by one person, whereas the trackless enclosures requires two people. This is ensure the enclosure Modules are pushed, or pulled evenly both sides to avoid the whole enclosure becoming off centre.

2. Is your swimming pool in a sheltered area?

This may influence the type of Pool Enclosure you purchase. If your swimming pool is in an open area, where a Pool Enclosure could be exposed to high winds, then it may be worth considering either a low profile enclosure, or one which is secured to the ground by tracks.

3. Is your swimming pool surround in good condition?

Is it level and solid? In order for a Pool Enclosure to work effectively your paving should be as level as possible and also the paving should be reasonably smooth, particularly if you are not having a tracked system.

If you have opted to purchase a tracked system, then this is not so vital. But you may need to consider fixing a level boarding, or platform to level the surface out. The more even the swimming pool surround is, the easier the Pool Enclosure will open and close.

4. What sort of edging is surrounding swimming your pool?

If you have coping stones and these are raised above the level of the swimming pool area, then you will need to take this into consideration when measuring up for a Pool Enclosure. This is also the case if you have a raised lip around your pool.

5. How accessible is your pool in terms of delivery and installation?

An often overlooked point before you purchase a Pool Enclosure, is the final delivery and installation. How easy it is for the swimming pool enclosure to be delivered to your pool side?, and also how much room you have available for the installation team?

Generally the low profile enclosures come virtually flat packed, so there are few problems with access to pools. But for larger pool swimming pool enclosure, each of the Modules are often delivered already assembled, and as a consequence require much more room.

6. How easy is it to maintain your pool with the swimming pool enclosure on?

When planning your Pool Enclosure, bear in mind that you will still want to easily access the filter covers, or lighting. This is certainly the case if you are planning for a tracked system

7. How about Planning Permission, and your neighbours?

Consider the height of your swimming pool enclosure. Before you purchase your Pool Enclosure have you decided what is the ideal height of the enclosure. This decision is partly driven by aesthetics, and partly more practical concerns.

The low profile Pool Enclosure is much less intrusive visually. And also you do not usually need any planning permission. Although having said that, it is still worth notifying your local planning office to make sure you have this confirmed.

The straight sided, full height Pool Enclosure has the benefit of you being able to still walk around your pool even with the swimming pool enclosureclosed. However, this does make the swimming pool enclosure a far more substantial building visually, and planning permission may be required.

But, maybe the biggest factor in this decision is budget. The full height Pool Enclosure will cost approximately twice that of a low profile enclosure.
