Do You Still Recall When Kids Used To Wear Mlb Uniforms And Played Real Games

My goodness, times have certainly changed. I do remember remember a time before the advent of video and computer games. It was a simpler time when kids saw rays of sunshine as a positive sign. Mother Nature’s signal to come out and play while affording their bodies with some old fashioned vitamin D. Kids those days would emulate their sports idols by pulling on their favorite MLB uniforms and pitch a few curve balls in the back yard, at a nearby park or even in the streets by their homes. Of course there were not as many vehicles at that time and vehicles achieving speeds of 180 miles per hour were unheard of.

Quite a number of children nowadays spend too much time in front of the TV or the computer. So much so that even bats seem to spend more time in sunlight than they do. No wonder the number of over weight children keep increasing every year. Computer games are fun but even the most physically exacting of computer games are unable to match the dynamism of human interaction during a simple game of football.

It is practically impossible to explain the the feelings a player experiences the first time he hits a home run or shoots a 3 pointer. I remember going to an outdoor charity hockey game a long time ago when I was just a kid proudly displaying one of my NHL hockey jerseys. After the game, the crowd were invited to try to score form penalties after giving a small donation. I managed to score and I could not help feeling like I had just won the Stanley Cup. I still remember that moment clearly like it was yesterday.

The main reason I love about participating in actual games is the fact that you can in fact use your MLB fitted caps to give signals to your teammates during a game of baseball. One cannot do that sitting on a chair staring at the screen. At least that is what I have been told. To many video games may sometimes cause more frustration that fun because no one likes getting beaten by a computer. Therein lies the secret to its addictiveness.

Taking part in sports teaches a child about teamwork. It also teaches us that sometimes we might not win a game or two but it is not the end of the world. Games also exposes kids to team strategy and the plus points of positive thinking. These are all traits that can be utilized in real everyday life. After all, its not whether you win or lose, or how much NBA merchandise or MLB uniforms you have in your popular sports memorabilia collection, or even how much MLB trivia you know, but rather its how you play the game.
